Kenya has over 30 National Parks and Reserves, and really offer tremendous diversity. The impressive Rift Valley dissects the entire country; the famous Masai Mara is classic wildlife-country a few things are more incredible than its migration when two million plains game accompanied by predators and scavengers through the reserve in an endless cycle of life and death; the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro watches over the huge herds of elephants in the Amboseli National Park; to the north Mount Kenya stands sentinel over the rugged and wooded mountains park of Mount Kenya and the Aberdares; further north again is the arid Samburu National Reserves; whilst to the east is the famous Tsavo National Park, the largest park in Kenya.
Bostwana is a vast land of contrasts and is landlocked between South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Zambia. It is roughly the size of France, with a population of only 2 million. It has dedicated 17% of its land to game sanctuaries with sound management policies to protect this rich asset. The majority of the country is covered by savannah scrub and the dry, arid Kalahari sands, broken by the breathtaking Okavango Delta, the salt pans of Makgadikgadi and the swamps and flood plains of the Chobe River. Collectively these areas constitute a range of ecosystems unparalled in Africa and are abundant in bird, plan and wildlife.
South Africa is frequently a aptly described as a ‘World in one country’ or the ‘Rainbow Nation’. it is a land of enormous diversity shaped by the historic hands of many races, creeds and nationalities. Gifted with a temperate climate and flanked by two oceans, Mother Nature has been allowed a very free hand and she seized the opportunity – sophisticated and cosmopolitan cities are a stone throw from bush wilderness, rugged deserts, unspoilt beaches, towering mountain ranges and an exceptional variety of animals, bird and planet life. A safari in South Africa is often the highlight of an itinerary with the country offering a number of Game Reserves and Parks, including the world-famous Kruger Park. They all offer superb standards of accommodation and wonderful game viewing experiences, with some being malaria-free, which is great for family safaris. We do recommend the Private Game Reserves or lodges on private concessions to ensure you get the best possible experience.
