Itinerary
7 NIGHTS / 8 DAYS (excluding international flights)
Day 1 – Okavango Delta - 2 nights - Kwara Camp. Full Board
Arrive into Maun in Botswana where you will be met and shown onto your light aircraft for the flight to Kwara Camp where you will spend 2 nights in a twin/double tent on a full board basis, inclusive of all scheduled game viewing activities, local beverages, laundry and park fees.
Kwara is located in the remote northern part of the stunning Okavango Delta within the private Kwara concession. This is a magnificent wilderness area in excess of 1,700 square km's, bordering the Moremi Reserve. No trip to Botswana is complete without a visit to the Delta, the shimmering and unique watery jewel in the middle of the Kalahari desert. Kwara encompasses a wide diversity of habitats, ranging from the clear Delta waters with reed-lined lagoons and channels, to open grasslands, mopane woodlands and palm-fringed islands.
Day 3 – Linyanti - 3 nights - Kwando Lebala Camp. Full Board
After this mornings game activity and breakfast you will be transferred to the airstrip to continue on your journey by light aircraft to Kwando Lebala for 3 nights in a twin/double tent on a full board basis, inclusive of all scheduled game viewing activities, local beverages, laundry and park fees.
Lebala means wide open spaces in Setswana and the scenery is dominated by vast plains with scattered palms and tree clumps backed by wooded savannas. Lebala Camp fronts onto the Linyanti Wetlands with open grasslands scattered with Illala Palms stretching to the south and west. The perennial and southerly flowing Kwando river disappears into the vast marshes before emerging as the Linyanti river, flowing in a north easterly direction. The wetlands and flood plains around Lebala offer a wonderful variety of wildlife.
Day 6 – Victoria Falls - 2 nights - Islands of Siankaba. Full Board
After a game activity and breakfast you will be transferred to the airstrip to continue on your journey by light aircraft to Kasane and onward to Livingstone. Transfer from Livingstone to Islands of Siankaba for 2 nights in a twin/double chalet on a full board basis, inclusive of all locally branded drinks and house wines, laundry, mokoro trips, nature trails, cultural village/school walks, sundowner cruise, 1 x trip to Zambian side of the Falls per stay and curio market shopping stop at top of Falls and picnic island lunch.
The Islands of Siankaba Lodge is the most classic of forested retreats and a luxurious five star lodge, exclusively sleeping just fourteen guests. The lodge is located on two untouched islands in the middle of the mighty Zambezi River situated between the 'Seventh Wonder of the Natural World', the magnificent Victoria Falls, and the world famous Chobe National Park. The two islands are linked by a suspension bridge leading to an overhead walkway in the tree canopy which connects the elevated chalets.
Day 8 – Return
After breakfast you will be transferred to Livingstone Airport where the itinerary terminates.
Cape Town Extension
Why not bolt-on a few days in Cape Town at the end of this itinerary to spend time exploring this wonderful city. You simply fly to Johannesburg and then connect onto a Cape Town flight. You can then fly back directly to London from Cape Town.
