Itinerary
4 NIGHTS / 5 DAYS (excluding international flights)
Day 1 – Okavango Delta - 2 nights - Kanana Camp. Full Board
On arrival in Maun you will be met and shown onto your light aircraft for the flight to Kanana Camp, for 2 nights in a twin/double tent on a full board basis, inclusive of all game drive activities, locally branded drinks and laundry.
Kanana Camp is a hidden jewel set on a private concession on the Xudum River in the southwest Okavango. The area encompasses a necklace of islands dotted with palms, figs, ebony and knob thorn trees, and is home to a myriad of birds, plants and animals. The nature of the habitat means it is the perfect place to experience the diversity of species found within the Okavango Delta. With the camp being situated in a private concession, a wide variety of activities are available at Kanana and the focus of activities varies with the rising and falling levels of the Okavango Delta. Activities include morning and afternoon/evening game drives in 4x4 vehicles and exploration of the crystal clear waterways by mokoro or powerboats.
Day 3 – Moremi Game Reserve - 2 nights - Okuti Camp. Full Board
After a game activity and breakfast you will be transferred to the airstrip to continue on your journey by light aircraft to Okuti Camp, for 2 nights in a twin/double tent on a full board basis, inclusive of all game drive activities, locally branded drinks and laundry.
Okuti is a delightful camp that lies alongside the Maunachira River, which flows through the Xakanaxa Lagoon, within the world renowned Moremi Game Reserve. Moremi Game Reserve has a wide variety of habitats that support a huge variety of wildlife and is a protected area. Experience game drives in the Moremi Game Reserve in specially designed safari vehicles. The area around Okuti is particularly rich in wildlife and game viewing is consistent year round, making this camp ideal for the first time visitor to Botswana. In addition to game drives you can explore the delta waterways by motorboat. With its myriad of open lagoons and winding channels the area is also a birder's paradise, especially for herons and storks in the breeding season.
Day 5 – Return
After breakfast you will be transferred to Maun Airport where the itinerary terminates.
Suggested Extensions
Why not bolt-on a few days to Victoria Falls to marvel at this natural wonder. Alternatively, spend a few days in Cape Town exploring this wonderful city. Honeymooners may want to add on a stay at a romantic and idyllic beach resort on an Indian Ocean island, such as Mauritius.
