Veligandu Island Resort
Key Facts
Overview
The only thing on Veligandu Island is the Veligandu Island Resort. Seclusion here is taken seriously, with only 76 rooms available, including Jacuzzi Water Villas & Beach Villas that house open-air bathrooms and outdoor Jacuzzis and offer true spaciousness in light and airy surroundings.
The Dhonveli Restaurant provides an all-you-can-eat service for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with wide selections of cuisine to tempt the taste buds. Sunday breakfasts welcome you with complimentary sparkling wine, whilst Sunday night dinners are Maldivian nights, with themed menus and waiters in traditional dress.
Delicacies are prepared at live cooking stations, to which your food is cooked and prepared to order in front of you. Soups, breads and desserts are all homemade with the fresh tropical fruits rich in flavour and ultimately satisfying and refreshing. Dhonveli is separated into three dining areas, including an open-air area with a sand floor and thatched roof with outdoor seating on the wooden deck. Weekly night-time entertainment involves cultural dances from Bodu Beru, racing crabs and chill out music to which you can really relax to.
Duniye Spa provides luxury holistic treatments, all set in the turquoise lagoon offering massages, facials, reflexologies and unique Honeymoon Spa packages that include the likes of Balinese massages, ginger-lemongrass body rubs, foot massages and tropical bath infusions.
Excursions at Veligandu can include snorkelling by Dhoni or speedboat and trips to visit locals on Rasdhoo Island your own private island… for a few hours at least. Watersports are in abundance with windsurfing, diving, kayaks, catamaran sailing and a freshwater infinity swimming pool overlooking the crystal-white beach.
