Pride of the Zambezi
Key Facts
Overview
The Pride of the Zambezi is a fabulous houseboat berthed on the Chobe River at the entrance to Chobe National Park. Approximately 70km upstream of Vic Falls, the finest of sightseeing, game viewing and Tiger fishing is a stunning, luxurious and very different perspective from the traditional safari on a Land rover.
The houseboat accommodates just fourteen guests in seven lavish en-suite cabins. It has a crew of five – captain; host; chef and three fully trained ranger/guides at your service around the clock. There are three water level sun decks and a large covered sundeck on the top level for up-close and personal wildlife viewing. An open plan lounge and dining area with unobstructed views, a fully serviced bar area and a ten-seater Jacuzzi on the middle deck guarantees all round blissful entertainment.
Relax game viewing from the river and it’s many channels; catching and competing with the legendary fighting Tiger Fish; do side trips on a small tender and drop anchor at several stunning locations whilst enjoying a wide array of activities – the perfect luxury escape.
There can be few natural wonders as synonymous with Africa’s raw wilderness as the great Chobe River. These waters divide Namibia’s Caprivi Strip from Botswana’s Chobe National Park, whilst the river’s exotic banks boast one of the densest populations of wildlife on the African continent.
The Chobe National Park spans across some 11,000 km² of lush African bush and is home to the largest populace of elephants in the world as well as prides of lion, massive herds of buffalo, the elusive leopard, numerous species of plains game and prolific bird life. In the waters of the Chobe River hippos and crocodiles abound and in the waters below is Africa’s voracious and hard fighting Tiger Fish.
