Key Facts
Overview
Mbalageti Tented Camp is located in the Western corridor of Tanzania's Serengeti National Park, on the slopes of Mwamveni Hill. Its panoramic views of the Serengeti Plain and Mbalageti River make this an extraordinary Camp.
With its unparalleled opportunities for wildlife viewing and seeing Africa at its most untamed, the Serengeti National Park offers a synchrony of beauty and nature like no other place. Mbalageti is actually a word from the old Maa language, meaning wildebeest, but the word is no longer in use; today Mbalageti refers to the seasonal river that runs through the area.
The luxurious safari-style tents, each with en-suite bathroom and cooling thatched roof, offer spectacular views from their very own private verandah. The tents provide a tranquil oasis after a day on safari and are spacious and well equipped. As an option for the budget traveller the lodge also offers 14 standard rooms in the main lodge. All rooms are tastefully decorated in a modern design for a feeling of comfort and have en suite bathrooms and a small verandah.
In the main lodge building there is a bar and restaurant with a lounge loft supplied with puzzles and games as well as a selection of books and magazines. Breakfast, light lunch and dinner are served in the restaurant. Enjoy the finest cuisine with the Serengeti as a vista. The dedicated Chef and his team are proud to serve you a fusion of local influences and continental cuisine.
The lodge has a swimming pool built of local rocks, and located on the side of the hill to give panoramic views of the landscape. There is also a tranquillity pool and wonderful massage room. Every afternoon, tea and a selection of home-baked pastries are served in the tea garden.
