Only 10 minutes from Tarangire National Park the camp is located in a shady bushland grove, with spectacular views onto Lake Burunge. It’s public areas offer a central lounge, and bar/dining area on a raised wooden deck. This elevated platform is the ideal venue for guests to relax and enjoy a sundowner whilst the sun disappears over the lake or to relax and swap tales around the fire.
Tarangire National Park covers 2600 sq km of grassland, floodplains and a large area of tall acacia woodland south of the vast open grass plains of southern Maasailand. Tarangire is beautifully unspoilt and game drives through the park enjoy stunning vistas to distant purpled hued formations of volcanic mountains. The Park also has with dense bush, with high grasses and huge old Baobab trees. The rolling hills are dominated by the impressive Tarangire River Valley which crosses the Park and attracts large numbers of migrant game during the dry months of July to September – it being the only source of water during the dry season. The park is famous for its great numbers of plains game such as eland, oryx, wildebeest, zebra and elephant, followed by the big cats and superb birdlife (over 300 species recorded) which congregate along the river.
The luxury tents have views out to Tarangire National Park and Lake Burunge and all have large beds, spacious private verandahs and en-suite bathrooms.
Full breakfasts are served every morning and lunches are a picnic at a lovely viewpoint in the Park or on the deck back at the camp. Dinners are served buffet style or table d’hote with international and traditional local cuisine and private dining can be arranged by request.
Activities available include mekoros (canoes) on Lake Burunge, game drives, guided walking safaris and cultural interaction with the Maasai & Datoga peoples.
