Hotel Heinitzberg
Key Facts
Overview
With a super location on “Luxury Hill” overlooking Windhoek’s skyline and the Khomas Hochland mountain range, the Hotel Heinitzburg is a landmark in its own right.
This small German castle was commissioned by Count Von Schwerin in 1914 for his fiancée. It is said love was his inspiration and elegance his achievement. In 1966 it was turned into a privately owned hotel that today has a reputation for elegance and comfort. Today the Heinitzburg has 4 pool-side deluxe rooms and 12 twin bedded deluxe rooms, each with a view. All the rooms are elegantly furnished and offer all the comforts expected of a five-star hotel. The pool side rooms have a bath as well as a shower.
The Heinitzburg prides itself on its cuisine and choice wines. Weather permitting breakfast, lunch and dinner may be enjoyed on the Garden Terrace, a favourite viewpoint for spectacular sunsets. The “Knight’s Room” a wood panelled room featuring historical art works is situated in the original castle also serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The cosy “Felsenkeller”, built into the mountain, and “Leo’s at the Castle” are both romantic and elegant dinner venues.
