Overview

The Golden Valley of Tea, Bogawantalawa Valley, is a Sri Lankan sanctuary ready to be explored in the greenery of the Hill Country. Peace and solitude abound in these verdant surroundings, take a scenic stroll in over two-hundred thousand hectares of majestic tea plantation trails and let Sri Lanka’s interior beauty dazzle you.

The property features four Bungalows, all unique in what they present. Each Bungalow then features from 4 to 6 luxurious Master Suites, Garden Suites and Luxury Rooms. You can book a room or the entire bungalow. Follow the Tea Trail and stay a night or two in each, or lounge in one and call it home for your duration. The four bungalows offer the discerning traveller both traditional and modern comforts in a "non-hotel" atmosphere. Summerville offers an air of a country cottage, Castlereagh has an eclectic style of its own, the high colonial Tientsin was one of the first planter's residences to be built in Ceylon, whilst the more modern Norwood oozes 60's character. Each bungalow has a Manager, Chef, Butler and support staff to welcome guests as at a planter's home.

Hiking and Mountain Biking is a must in the Sri Lankan Hill Country, the picturesque environment simply beyond words. Whilst the English planters have long gone, the colonial charm is still alive and well with superb tennis and croquet facilities on offer. The resident expert therapists offer a selection of spa treatments and baths in the privacy of your bedroom or suite.

Food at Ceylon Tea Trails is traditionally a blend of local and European flavours, rejoice in fresh and local produce that tempt your senses and offer that homely food away from home.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle once came here, he saw, he fell in love. You can too.
