LIONS

The Lion (Panthera Lions) is the undisputed “King of the Jungle” and is a mighty and impressive cat. It is one of the of five big cats from genus Pantera and a member of the family Felidae. The most common specie is the African Lion, which as the name suggests is found in Africa, but we also offer the opportunity to see the Asiatic Lion, also known as the India or Persian Lion, which exists as a single population in India’s Gujarat State. LEOPARDS

The Leopard (Panthera Pardus) is one of the five ‘big cats’ in the genus Panthera and is a member of the Felidae family. The Leopard can be found across areas of sub-Saharan Africa, West Asia, the Middle East, South and South-East Asia. However, many populations are endangered, especially outside of Africa. We have therefore only focused on the Leopards found in Africa but if you are interested in tracking snow Leopards in Central and South Asia do not hesitate to speak to us. CHEETAH

The Cheetah (Acionyx Jubatus) is a large feline inhabiting most of Africa and parts of Iran, and is the only living member of the genus Aclonyx. The Cheetah is a sleek and beautiful cat that is recognised as the fastest mammal on earth, hitting speeds of up to 75mph and it also has the ability to accelerate from 0 to 68mph in three seconds. ELEPHANTS

The Elephant is a huge mammal and we offer the opportunity to see the two different species – the African Elephant (Loxodonta Africana) and the Asian/India Elephant (Elephus Maximus). The African Elephant is found throughout sub-Saharan Africa, whilst the Asian Elephant is found in South Asia and South-East Asia. The Elephant is recognised as the largest land mammal and is a very impressive beast, with male African Elephants often standing as high as 13 feet in height and weighing up to 1.5 tonnes. RHINOS

The Rhinoceros, commonly abbreviated as Rhino, is a group of five species of odd-toed ungulates from the Rhinocerotidae. The Black Rhino and the White Rhino are native to Africa and then the Indian Rhinoceros, or greater one-horned Rhinoceros, (Rhinoceros Unicorns) the Javan Rhinoceros (Rhinoceros Sandaicus) and the Sumatran Rhinoceros (Dicerohinus Sumatrensis) and are found in Southern Asia.
