About Us

Inspirational Travel is a luxury tour operator that specialises in the creation of luxury holidays for the discerning traveller.

All of our itineraries are individually crafted for you to ensure that we provide unique holidays to our range of destinations. We prefer to utilise small boutique properties of character that ensure that our clients are recognised as individuals rather than numbers. Our transfers are all done on a private basis; in our destinations we use highly skilled and trained private guides and we can include other important touches to create the perfect itinerary for you.

At Inspirational Travel all of our experienced and knowledgeable staff are widely travelled and have first hand knowledge and experience of all of our destinations. From the first consultation with you (and effectively a blank piece of paper) we will establish your requirements that will allow you to travel at your own pace.

We believe in flexibility and personalisation and recognise that each and every client is different and therefore has different ideas on what they need from their holiday. Attention to detail and exceptional levels of service are critical parts of our operation and we will ensure that no stone is left unturned in the pursuit of excellence.

Our range of hotels, camps, lodges, boats and trains are all hand-picked and we offer a diverse selection from small tented camps in remote wilderness areas and boutique guest houses in vibrant cities through to ultra-luxurious hotels and resorts. However, this website is not intended to be an exhaustive list and merely features a selection of our favourites. Simply ask should these not be suitable or if you have others that you prefer.

Through our consultation process with you we will recommend the best rooms and suites, where to eat and other ideas to ensure that you get the most from your holiday experience. We will create inspirational itineraries for honeymooners and other couples seeking romantic hideaways; design exciting journeys to amazing places in Africa; plan and execute safe and inspiring programmes for families; and conjure up exceptional ideas for those seeking a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

You can also book with Inspirational Travel confident in the knowledge that all of our holidays and flights are fully bonded with the Civil Aviation Authority and we hold an Air Tour Operators' License (ATOL number is 9748). This license covers all holidays that include air travel.

Therefore, whether you are travelling alone, with your partner, with family or a group of friends, be inspired with Inspirational Travel.

Testimonials

We had an absolutely fantastic time on our holiday to The Maldives so thank you very much.

Thank you for arranging this for us, it will leave us with great memories for many years!

The BA flights were great, the Maldivian air taxi’s were great, the resort (Medhufushi Island Resort) was fabulous, the food was amazing, but the stars of the show for me were without question the Maldivian people and the snorkelling – both amazing!

We look forward to travelling with you again in the future.

- Mr & Mrs Larder, Stamford, Lincs, 2011

Well where do we start?

Every one of the 34 days of the trip you organised for us exceeded our expectations by more than we could ever have imagined. The quality of all the lodges was outstanding and the services provided by all staff consistently high, extremely professional with exceptional warmth and unparalleled hospitality.

The concessions, private reserves and parks you recommended were simply amazing for both wildlife and scenery.

As if all that wasn’t enough, you peppered the whole trip with some very generous, thoughtful, massively enjoyable and totally unexpected surprises. Frank was totally blown away by the surprise wild dog feeding in particular. While out on the quads looking for the dogs we also spotted two leopard cubs - even the Okonjima staff were jealous!! We were both absolutely captivated by the surprise “behind the scenes” big cat feeding and clinic visit.

“Could only get you a Garden room” indeed!! The view suite was bigger than our whole house and had the most spectacular lookout. You totally spoilt us!

The champers, the flowers, the room upgrades and the multitude of decadent service inclusions totally blew us away... (Our livers are the only ones with a complaint!). The trip was extraordinary good value considering everything we experienced, together with all the added comforts!!

At Ongava, we suspect that you specifically chose Isaac (who we later learned is THE guide guru who has trained dozens of other guides in several of the lodges we subsequently visited). He treated us to what can only be described as the most amazingly memorable elephant experience we could ever have hoped for. Isaac’s knowledge of animal behaviour and ecology made the whole experience a riveting and very touching close encounter.

Tafika (which was purely your idea remember) was definitely one of the biggest highlights, John, Carol, Heather and team gave us the royal treatment in every respect. The walking safaris were mind blowing- we tracked lions on foot and found them twice in one day! We have put a return trip on our bucket list.

Bucket loads of gratitude for all those wonderful memories. We will definitely be singing your praises.

- Mr & Mrs Nissen, Australia, 2011

Kaya Mawa (Lake Malawi) you'll be glad to hear was fabulous, we had an amazing time and a fantastic wedding. The place is so amazing - the fantastically unique rustic rooms, the food, location & the service (nothing was too much trouble - even getting the wedding certificate from the DC!). Getting married here was so special & memorable for us. In particular many thanks to Michelle & Richard for being the perfect hosts, bridesmaid, best man & photographers. Also a special mention to the choir for getting rid of our pre-wedding nerves & making the occasion so enjoyable.
We would definitely recommend it to anyone else considering getting hitched abroad.

We loved the idyllic location of the honeymoon island, however we did find it a little noisy with the waves crashing on the rocks at night and quite windy on the decking area during the day. Having mentioned this to Michelle she was more than happy for us to explore the another rooms and to choose whichever we liked, which was great as we ended up with place the size of a house, with a gorgeous pool.

We would like to say a massive thank you for all the arrangements you made on our behalf which worked perfectly. It was the most amazing wedding location and the trip of a lifetime for us.

- Mr & Mrs Booth (Wedding & Honeymoon), Melton Mowbray, UK, 2011

The honeymoon went very well. All the properties were excellent, all had the wow factor and there was a very good variety in style. In Sri Lanka the local representatives and the chauffeur guide were also excellent. In terms of the tour, again, it was excellent with a good variety of different things to see. The chauffeur was always polite, always on time to pick us up as scheduled, the vehicle was comfortable, clean and well air conditioned and he obviously knew the area very well and answered all our questions..he did a very good job.

The hotel in Colombo was stunning and the Regency was also stunning and I believe you upgraded our room to VIP which was outstanding. Overall, the experience in Sri Lanka was brilliant.

Maldives was also excellent, the island was stunning, very clean, representatives were very nice, travelling there went smoothly. The accommodation was ideal, food was stunning and the trips were also brilliant.

Overall it was a brilliant holiday and one to remember and thanks for arranging it for us. Of course, we will recommend you to other people and will come to you again on other holidays in the future

- Mr & Mrs Richardson (Honeymoon), Haywards Heath, England, 2011

We had such an amazing time on our honeymoon - seriously we loved every minute! South Africa was just incredible, I am so glad we chose to book through yourselves because both Cybele and Arathusa were first class and we probably would never have found the hidden gem that is Cybele. The people were so friendly, the service was second-to-none, the food absolutely delicious and the accommodation just ‘wow’!

Everything went completely to plan, it was so well organised, from the air transfers to the collection from the airports etc.

The Safari was of course the highlight because not only did we see the ‘Big Five’ but we saw lions eating a waterbuck and hyenas taunting them (and chasing off a leopard) and them having a fight, and then to top it off a male lion appeared and they all scarpered! Our ranger was wonderful and said that it was even one of his Top 10 moments it was that special!

The luxury lodge was superb - the only drawback was because we are wimps(!!) and we felt really isolated from the rest of the lodge and a bit nervous walking, what felt like a long distance, to and from our lodge in the day when the lions were staying within just 300m! But we can’t complain really because it was wonderful and this really was the only (tiny) downside for us.

Mauritius too was lovely, we were very pleased with the exclusivity of the hotel, especially when we were taken back to the airport and had to pick others up from some of the Grand Baie hotels which either were across a road from the beach and/or were huge hotel complexes! Again because we booked through you we didn’t end up in one of the larger hotels of which we were grateful for. Although Mauritius was lovely I think I had misconceptions about it being like the Maldives/Seychelles with large expanses of white sand beaches when really it’s quite built up around the coast and is a volcanic island, so although we still had a great time I feel we have ticked that one off the list!

However we just can’t stop raving about South Africa and in fact whilst we were out there we discussed going back to Cybele and Arathusa for our anniversary next September – it would be great if perhaps you could look into this for us and then it leaves us a year to save up for it, especially after the wedding!!

- Mr & Mrs Reynolds (Honeymoon), Rutland, UK, 2011

Our trip to Huvafen Fushi in The Maldives was excellent! We were very impressed with all the arrangements. The flight was fine, although we very nearly didn't make it due to the horrendous traffic getting to Gatwick!

The speedboat transfer direct from the airport at Mahe was definitely a highlight – the hotels boat is by far the most impressive of all the hotels and is moored at the far end of the strip, meaning you have to walk past all the others and the get more and more luxurious as you walk along.

The hotel was everything I'd expected. You're greeted on first name terms by your thakaru and the "no reception" concept makes you feel very special.

The only draw back is the price of activities and food once you're there. It's annoying that they add tax to everything – although I appreciate this is common place abroad, we're just used to everything being included in the UK.

The highlight of the hotel was the marine biologist and the sting ray feeding at 6.30pm daily. An incredible experience and for people who want just a little bit more than doing nothing, the opportunity to see wildlife like this was great.

The food was outstanding as was the service and style of the place.

- Miss Elwell & Mr Bird, Leicester, UK, 2011

The honeymoon was fantastic so thank you very much. One particular thing that stands out from the many amazing things was the view when we first arrived at Muchenje, none of the brochures or even their website prepared us for it, it was spectacular.

The same feedback can be given to Siankaba, Muchenje and Thonga - the locations were breath taking, the accommodation, staff and hosts helpful in every possible way, we could not have wanted more, it was perfect.

- Mr & Mrs Johns, Kent, 2011

We had a truly awesome trip. The hotel was great, the boys and I had a ball, the golf was superb and meeting Trevor on Friday evening for the rugby and dinner was an excellent finale, well done. We will be back and I know at least one travel mate who will be in touch to organise a family trip next year, he has all your details. Thanks again and I cannot believe that as I write this a week ago I was enjoying the stunning backdrop of Erinvale!

- Taafe Party, Derbyshire, 2011

"We have recently travelled on two holidays with you and just wanted to give brief feedback.

Mauritius - Thank you for a wonderful holiday from start to finish. The meet & greet on arrival was first class and also on our departure, which makes the whole airport experience easy. The Belle Mare Plage Resort was all we expected and more plus had 2 wonderful golf courses to choose from! The staff, accommodation and service were exceptional. We can highly recommend this resort for golfers.

Antigua - The Verandah Resort & Spa was all we expected & more. Stunning beaches, good food, entertainment and courteous staff. Antigua is a very pretty island and the resort offer tours and excursions to suit every taste. We can thoroughly recommend the sunset cruise and also a visit to Shirley Heights on a Sunday for the steel band & barbeque. What a fantastic atmosphere. We also did an add on to Nevis via St Kitts and once again many thanks for arranging our onward flights to St Kitts.

Once again thank you Steve & Inspirational Travel for arranging two great holidays. We always know they will be exceptional when you have arranged them for us and we are looking forward to planning our next trip with you!"

- Mr & Mrs Squires, Peterborough, 2011

“I normally don’t use a travel company and I spend ages researching and trawling through the Internet but this time I decided I’d use Inspirational Travel as I needed connecting flights and was struggling to sort them myself. I’m so glad I did as their advice and expertise was second to none and I was really pleased they recommended an alternative Grenada hotel to the one I’d chosen as it was great - the daily spa treatments were a wonderful bonus! I have already passed on Inspirational Travel’s details to friends and I will definitely use their services again.”

- Mr & Mrs Styles, Rutland, 2011

Responsibility

Our Responsible Travel Policy

It is a fact that tourism is now the world's fastest growing industry, accounting for over six percent of the world's gross national product and providing up to ten percent of the world's total employment. With this increase in tourism and travel we believe that we all have a massive responsibility to ensure that the heritage and environment of those places we seek to explore does not get damaged or spoilt under the influx of new visitors.

There is an argument that the most responsible form of travel is if we do not travel at all. Whilst this does guarantee minimum impact, we believe that travel is life-changing, enlightening and enriching for all and if managed correctly we can all make a difference to the destinations that we visit. We therefore all have a responsibility to ensure that we do not upset or destroy the very cultures and environments we choose to visit.

There are a number of simple guidelines that we can all adopt to preserve the future of these destinations and to protect their culture, environment and heritage. With the travel documents that we send to our clients we provide a detailed list of things that we think will help. Our ticket wallets and travel bags that we provide our customers are produced in Zambia, utilising 100% recycled cotton and supporting the local people with employment and income.

We also can all do more to help the environment in which we live and at Inspirational Travel we ensure we use recycled paper wherever possible, we use energy-saving light bulbs, we recycle as much as we can and ensure all electrical items are switched off when not in use.

Let us all make an effort to maintain and save this fragile planet that we have the pleasure to reside on.

The air holiday packages on this website are ATOL protected, since we hold an Air Travel Operators' Licence granted by the Civil Aviation Authority. Our ATOL number is 9748. ATOL protection extends primarily to customers who booked and paid in the United Kingdom. Please see our terms and conditions for more information.
