COUSINE ISLAND – PRESTIGE
Cousine Island offers eco-tourism escapism of the highest order and a degree of privacy almost impossible to find in the 21st Century.
This super-exclusive island resort accommodates a maximum of 10 guests in four luxury villas, just thirty metres from the beach and each with magnificent Indian Ocean views. The villas have a floor space of 175sqm and two, can accommodate a third person. As a tribute to Seychelles’ history, the architecture of all the buildings is French Colonial.
The Pavilion is the islands airy dining room, located in the main building and overlooking the freshwater swimming pool and the Indian Ocean. Typical Creole cuisine and dishes with Eastern and European influences can be sampled. Chefs prepare meals to order, to satisfy each guest’s individual tastes.
Facilities include a library, spa, gym and a fresh water swimming pool. There is a choice of water sports and several island excursions. Activities include bird watching, nature walks, participation in conservation programs including tree planting, turtle monitoring and ringing and feeding of the critically endangered Magpie Robins.
This sixty two acre private nature reserve and conservation island is situated 6km off the west coast of Praslin. Vegetation consists of ninety five percent endemic plants, more than five species of endemic land birds and seven species of endemic seabirds. Migratory birds consider the island home for six months of the year. Hawksbill and Green Turtles nest on these shores with approximately 14,000 Hawksbill Turtle hatchlings being released per breeding season, typically from November to March.
