NORTHERN ISLANDS, MOZAMBIQUE – DELUXE
Coral Lodge 15.41 is a stunning beachfront lodge on a spectacular peninsula steeped in history. The exact coordinates for Coral Lodge 15.41 are part of the name, i.e. 15 degrees south latitude and 41 degrees east longitude. The area around the lodge Varanda lies at the tip of a peninsula and is only a short distance from Ilha de Moçambique (Mozambique Island), the former capital of Mozambique.
The lodge is close to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ilha de Moçambique – the former Portuguese capital in Mozambique. The lodge is designed in keeping with the environment and blends effortlessly into this unique natural setting.
There are just ten luxury villas. Five villas have a full ocean view, situated on top of the dunes overlooking the beach. The other five are more secluded and have a view over the mangrove forest and Ilha de Moçambique. The villas are spacious with a surface area of about 100m² (1076ft²), which includes a living area in addition to a bedroom, a bathroom and a big terrace. In two of the villas an extra bedroom is included for 2 children or an extra adult. To fully compliment the exterior design of the villas, Edward van Vliet used a blend of African and modern styles for the furniture that decorates the interior of the villas.
Guests at Coral Lodge 15.41 can enjoy a wide range of activities during their stay. There is a large saltwater infinity pool which overlooks the lagoon and the swimming around the pool is very safe. You can head out to sea on the lodge’s dhow; head out for a sunset cruise or take some rods and try to catch dinner in the prolific fishing spots close by. Relax and simply enjoy the resort, the beach and the water sports or explore Mozambique’s rich history and the culture of the Macua people. Watersports include diving, snorkelling, canoeing, sailing, windsurfing, fishing and whale watching between August and October. Ten minutes away is llha de Moçambique, the only UNESCO World Heritage site in Mozambique. A local guide is on hand to share his knowledge of the fascinating history and stories of the area. Also on offer is the opportunity to join the chef on his visit to the local market and then learn to cook traditional local cuisine.
