DAMARALAND & KAOKOLAND, NAMIBIA – PRESTIGE
Nkwali is a small intimate camp located on the banks of the Luangwa on a magnificent meander in the river outside the National Park where leopards roam along the bank and can often be spotted from camp. Situated on Robin Pope Safaris’ private land outside the park there is a private game viewing area behind camp as well as exclusive access into the park either by boat or across the pontoon.
There are just six chalets, creating a very private safari experience with a guest to guide ratio of 4:1 each guest is offered increased flexibility and choice on activities and therefore a far more personalised experience. The chalets are built from bamboo woven walls and thatch roofs, offering a rustic luxury, but the main draw are the magnificent views of the river. Set back from the river on a lagoon are the dining room and swimming pool from which guests are often treated to elephants and other game coming down to drink during the day unperturbed by our presence.
Activities range from day or night game drives by Toyota Landcruiser, guided walks led by a knowledgeable guide, and escorted by an armed National Park scout and seasonal boating during the emerald season, from end of December until April. In addition to wildlife activities, you may wish to visit Kawaza Village and the local schools.
