LOWER ZAMBEZIDELUXE

Royal Zambezi Lodge is located on the banks of the Zambezi River at one of the rivers widest points. The lodge sits within the Chiawa Game Management Area, which neighbours the larger Lower Zambezi National Park, and is set against the scenic mountain backdrop of the Zambezi Valley escarpment.

Royal Zambezi Lodge is a striking combination of contemporary style, luxury and comfort in an area rich in wildlife with common sightings of elephant, lion, wild dog, buffalo, impala, puku, bushbuck, kudu, zebra, warthog, baboon, hippo, crocodile and abundant birdlife. On evening game drives, nocturnal animals such as hyena, porcupine, civet, genet, honeybadger and leopard could also be seen.

The Lodge accommodates a maximum of 30 guests in 3 Presidential Suites, 4 Deluxe Suites and 8 Classic Suites. The large Tented Suites, each with a thatched canopy, are spaced out along the river bank under mature trees, with private decks to savour the surrounding wilderness. Be lulled to sleep with the sounds of the night and unforgettable sunrises over the river will greet you each morning. The impeccable furnishings have a contemporary, understated elegance, using natural tones and rich textures, pure cotton linen and the finest down pillows.

The Presidential Suites epitomize the luxury safari experience and are a massive 100 sq metres in size with their own private sitting room, private pools, outside showers, baths and private salas. They offer space & privacy whilst allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the wilderness that surrounds them.

The Deluxe Suites also have private pools, a day bed (sala) and an inside and outside bathroom (shower and copper bath) providing the option of showering inside or under the stars. The airy canopied canvas suites nestle under mature trees, and each is positioned for maximum enjoyment of the surrounding views and complete privacy.

The Classic Suites are private units complete with shady verandah and spacious en-suite bathrooms.

The open-plan reception area, dining room and lounge have classic architectural lines, lofty thatched roofs and airy verandahs. Two enormous fireplaces, comfortable sofas and armchairs, white linen table cloths and cheerful personalised service create a haven of easy luxury from which to explore this beautiful area.

Activities on offer range from game drives and game walks to boating, fishing and just generally relaxing and watching the river flow by. The lodge also has a full spa for those that are in need of a little pampering after a days game viewing.
