SERENGETI, TANZANIA – PRESTIGE
Bordering the Serengeti National Park, the Singita Grumeti Reserves concession is located in northern Tanzania and forms part of the Serengeti-Mara eco-system. The absence of fencing allows the migration of game between the park and the concession.
Singita Grumeti consists of three exclusive properties: Sasakwa Lodge, Sabora Tented Camp and Faru Faru Lodge.
Sasakwa Lodge is situated atop Sasakwa Hill and is built in the style of a turn-of-the-century east African ranch house and designed in a style that maximizes the spectacular views of the expansive Serengeti plains. The interiors celebrate nature and the colours of the bush, while impressive Venetian mirrors and crystal chandeliers are a nod to the elegance of a gentleman’s club. Guests at Sasakwa Lodge enjoy five-star plus accommodations in the seven suites and exquisitely-prepared meals accompanied by award-winning wines.
Sabora Tented Camp, situated on the plains, has been designed around a 1920’s ‘Out of Africa’ theme. Six lavish tents evoke a sense of romance and adventure. Soft canvas separates guests from the bush elements and interiors are beautifully decorated with European finery, ethnically-inspired objects and campaign furniture.
Faru Faru Lodge is an intimate property built in the style of a classic East African botanical safari camp. Six suites overlook a watering hole and the Grumeti River. The elevated viewing decks offer game viewing without even leaving the lodge! The Swahili-inspired ‘safari beach’ offers the opportunity for serious rest and relaxation.
Activities include game drives and walks accompanied by professional guides plus archery, lawn croquet, badminton, billiards (so bring your best pool cues), star-gazing safaris, mountain biking and hot-air ballooning are all available. An equestrian centre is situated adjacent to Sasakwa Lodge and is home to 16 horses.
