TARANGIRE, TANZANIA – DELUXE
Swala Camp is situated in a prime location within Tarangire National Park, looking over the Gurushi Marshland. Swala Camp itself is located under a canopy of Acacia trees, creating a beautiful setting. The parks name is derived from the Tarangire River, the park’s only source of permanent water. In the dry season this river is the lifeline of the regional wildlife, attracting much of the game. Huge herds of elephant, greater Kudu and fringe-eared Oryx are what the park is synonymous with. In addition leopard and tree climbing pythons often inhabit the trees.
Accommodation is offered in 12 double tents, each attended by a personal butler and all placed to offer maximum privacy and tranquillity. They feature a open plan arrangement with either a king sized bed, or twin beds depending on the guests staying. Each tent has en-suite facilities with a choice of indoor or outdoor showers for slight luxury and hot running water. Private balconies with comfortable furnishings extend in front of each unit. The elevated terraces on the tents are appointed towards the waterhole that attracts wildlife year-round to ensure that your African wildlife experiences do not finish when you leave your vehicle. An added touch is that you will receive complementary Wi-Fi in all guest tents.
The dining area, lounge and library are housed in the main public area, which affords spectacular views from its wooden deck. Or you could choose to dine while sipping cocktails on your own private veranda and watch the waterhole which regularly shows lions, leopards and resident bull elephants.
This section of the park is exceptionally private with no other camps around. Tarangire is noted for its elephant population and the spectacular baobab trees that are in abundance throughout the park. Swala offers an experience that is both exclusive in its setting and luxurious in its style; the ambience of old, wild Africa with a breathtaking location that defines the safari as surely as the wildlife that inhabits it.
The activities you could participate in are the daily game drives I which the camp will provide, this will enhance the viewing of wildlife throughout your stay. Also bush picnics and dinners are available where you can dine in the heart of the bush where it is secluded and you can watch the sun set with a cocktail in hand.
