Approximately three hours drive north of Cape Town, in the craggy foothills of the Cederberg Mountains, lies a unique ecological oasis – Bushmans Kloof. The area is characterized by immense open plains, ravines, waterfalls and prehistoric rock formations. The 7,500 hectare reserve is a priceless sanctuary nurturing wildlife, the botanical diversity of the region and the history and culture of the San Bushmen who thrived in this area some 6,000 years ago and whose art is featured in some 130 remarkable rock painting sites. The reserve has also reintroduced many species of wildlife to the area such as the rare Cape Mountain Zebra, Eland and black Wildebeest. In recognition of its immense historical and botanical significance, Bushmans Kloof has been declared a South African Natural Heritage Site.

The lodge itself is set on rolling hills and offers 16 rooms, each with en-suite bathrooms and private terraces. Delicious meals are served and in the evenings guests can enjoy dinner under the African sky around a log fire. There is also a library, video room and billiards.

The stunning Koro Lodge is an old farmhouse, nestled in the reserve, that has been completely renovated and transformed into a spectacular intimate villa, surrounded by open vistas of wilderness and wildlife, combining ultimate luxury with nature. It is available for families and friends and provides the perfect venue to enjoy the complete wilderness adventure. It has two sumptious en-suite bedrooms and a loft with comfortable accommodations for up to four children.

Activities include game drives, guided rock art tours, river walks, abseiling, fly fishing, mountain hikes, bird watching, mountain biking and swimming in crystal clear rock pools. There is also a superb Spa and wellness centre.
