VAST DESERTS, HUGE DUNES, FASCINATING WILDLIFE AND ADVENTUREThe Northern Cape is large, sparsely populated and primarily made up of vast tracts of fragile desert areas, including the Kalahari Gemsbok National Park, which is part of the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, and Tswalu Private Game Reserve. These areas are home to large numbers of wildlife species including a number that are unique to the area plus the fascinating San people who moved here from Namibia. Other areas of note include the Augrabies Falls, the diamond mining region of Kimberley and Namaqualand, which is famous for its vast areas of flowers that bloom in the Spring between August and November. For adventure there is plenty of activity of the Orange River which flows through the province.
