Kulala Desert Lodge is family-friendly Lodge located within the arid Namib Desert on the 37,000 hectare private Kulala wilderness Reserve which is home to ostrich, springbok, gemsbok, spotted hyaena and the occasional brown hyaena. Smaller creatures such as bat-eared fox, black-backed jackal, porcupine, Cape fox and aardwolf can also be seen.
The lodge itself provides 23 thatched and canvas “Kulalas” which each have their own en-suite bathrooms and verandas; each unit is built on a wooden platform so you’re able to catch the cooling breezes and has a deck on the flat rooftop for sleep-outs under the stars. There are also three tents which accommodate a family of four each. You can explore the dramatic Kulala Wilderness Reserve by quad bike, hot air balloon, nature drive or on foot.
The main area of the lodge includes a lounge area, bar, dining area and a wrap-around veranda looking over the main riverbed which would be a perfect location to photograph the desert vista which will contemplate the days exciting activities.
