MAKGADIKGADI SALT PANS, KALAHARI DESERT – DELUXE
Jack’s Camp is situated alongside the breathtaking Ntwetwe Pan, which is within the stunning Makgadikgadi Salt Pans. These pans produce amazing game viewings due to habitats it holds, the bigger game is during the dry months. During the green season you will be able to experience the migration of the zebra and wildebeest which is the second biggest in Africa.
The camp can hold up to 20 guests at a time; they have 7 twin tents and 3 double tents that are all open and have the style of a refined 1940’s safari environment. These are all built against a background of palm trees and a sanctuary of greenery. Each tent has its own spacious en-suite bathroom, and indoor and outdoor shower depending on your love of nature. The Verandah leads out into the pool pavilion and the plunge pool which is available for all guests under a beautiful tent with deck chairs provided.
Activities at the camp are very dependent on the season and the weather with the area; all year round you can enjoy game drives in which you can experience to unique desert wildlife which surrounds the pans. You can also spend time with the Zu/’hoasi bushmen and learn more about their ancient culture and beliefs.
Guests experience a comprehensive desert safari that focuses on drought-adapted wildlife as well as the geology, archaeology and anthropology of the Kalahari and Makgadikgadi Salt Pans. Nature activities include viewing a semi-habituated meerkat family, walking safaris with San (Bushmen) trackers and exploring the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans on light-weight quad bikes.
