Chobe Chilwero, ‘place of high view’, is on a gentle hill overlooking the Chobe River and Sedudu Island in Northern Botswana, where gorgeous, breathtaking vistas, awe-inspiring sunsets and an abundance of wildlife are the norm.
The main attraction is the sundowner cruises which they include in the rate of your two daily activities whereby the camp owns its own customised boats and sail down Chobe River while watching the sunset and sipping a cocktail, it is a great way of stopping Buffalo’s coming out into the cool evening and elephants stride through the river.
The camp is sat above the Chobe River; it holds 14 cottages and one honeymoon suite, all of which have their own spacious en-suite bathrooms with a large free standing bath to relax in after a long afternoon of game viewing, also choice of an indoor or an outdoor shower. Each cottage has its own private deck where they can gaze into the open air of Africa and watching the surround wildlife in their natural habitat. The honeymoon suite will also include a private plunge pool and deck area in which they can enjoy a relaxing romantic evening under the stars. Within the rate of the honeymoon suite they will also get their own private vehicle and guide for all of the gaming activities. This luxurious camp is a great get away for the newly wedded couple.
The living area of this Lodge hosts a stylish, contemporary lounge and dining area, leading to spectacular viewing decks overlooking the river. The wine cellar is temperature-controlled and houses an impressive variety of the finest South African and European wines. At Chobe Chilwero, sumptuous meals are lovingly prepared and are a delicious, eclectic fusion of Western and African cuisine and delicacies. High teas are often served on the lawn under the shade of the trees.
Guided game drives in open vehicles bring you to the heart of Africa’s largest concentration of elephants, as well as hippos, buffalos, antelopes, lions and other creatures that gather on the Chobe River’s banks, or join the guides on wondrous water safaris on specially adapted motorboats.
