OKAVANGO DELTA, BOTSWANA – DELUXE
Nxabega means ‘the place of the giraffe’, the camp is perfectly positioned to discover the brilliance of the Okavango, in front of the camp are wide open channels of the Delta. The placement of the camp gives off overwhelming views of the region and how glorious Africa is. The Delta is a unique natural phenomenon – flowing more than 1000 km from its source in Angola, this river disappears beneath the sands of Botswana, creating a lush inland delta in the midst of this otherwise arid country.
Uniquely, Nxabega is positioned in an area that boasts a number of permanent river channels that flow throughout the year – creating a distinctive layer of vegetation, with lush beds of tall papyrus, miscanthus grass, evergreen figs and ferns.
The camp is tucked under a shelter of massive ebony trees revealing the Okavango, it is sheltered by forest thickets just still so open to massive views of the Delta and the lagoons surrounding it. In total there are 9 tents either side of the communal guest areas. There is one spacious swimming pool within the guest areas for anyone needing to escape the heat and relax for an afternoon. Within the suite there are en-suite showers and large spinning fans to keep the guests refreshed. There is also private wooden decks in each suite so you can retreat to a quiet place to contemplate the water’s edge. &Beyond Nxabega provides spacious guest areas for a cosy space to spend your afternoon, these come along with distant views of the Okavango. You will be dining in a room with wide open doors pulled back to the beautiful views of Africa.
A day at Nxabega involves a morning game drive as dawn breaks over the African bush, before returning to camp for a refreshing and delicious breakfast, with platters of fruit and cheese followed by a selection of hot breakfast dishes. You then have time to relax or embark on a walk around the area with an experienced guide before a scrumptious lunch served in shady guest areas tucked into the riverine forest. After afternoon tea, you then will get the chance to experience an afternoon safari or boat ride on a mokoro or in a motorised boat to discover dozens of bird species, frogs and other intimate details of the Delta lie waiting to be explored at eye level. Dinner is then served under the African skies for the perfect end to the perfect day!
Children of all ages are welcome. However, children under the age of 5 are not allowed to participate in game drives.
