OKAVANGO DELTA, BOTSWANA – DELUXE
The Abu camp is situated in the pure and immaculate private Abu concession of the Okavango Delta. The Okavango holds more elephants than any other area of Africa; this safari is guaranteed to change your perceptions of elephants and the wilderness that this part of Africa has to offer. Abu Camp is hidden in an ancient riverine forest bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. It is on a half million acre private concession in the Okavango Delta and is offered as a three-day package.
The camp is named after Randall Moore’s legendary film-starring elephant “Abu” who leads a herd of elephants on exhilarating safari trails. The adult elephants each carry two guests in large, comfortable custom-made saddles, whilst the younger elephants provide a constant source of interest and amusement.
Abu Private Villa is set apart from the camp and offers two en-suite double bedrooms, sleeping a maximum of four guests in the same style and luxury found at Abu Camp.
Guests are invited to immerse themselves in an Elephant herd. This includes; a walk with the Elephant, interaction with the herd, Elephant-back safaris, and an insight into elephant behaviour. It gives the guests a chance to get to the elephants and the personalities of each elephant, for example the baby elephant compared to the doting mother elephant.
The Camp aims to provide privacy for each guest, a good location and accommodation and a great service. Well lit pathways lead guests to the 6 tents that are available in the camp. All of the suites have their own en-suite bathroom each designed with its own unique style, and also a choice of an indoor or an outdoor shower. There’s a separate relaxing seating area in each tent that is situated on an elevated deck to shade itself by the trees. At all perspective of the room guests can enjoy the panoramic views the Delta has to offer.
The camp also offers game drives, night drives, bush walks, and mokoro trips for a more diverse seeing of the area.
All children are welcome to the camp. However, for most activities the minimum age requirement is 13 years of age.
This accommodation would best suit nature and wildlife lovers who are especially interested in Elephants.
